During the COVID-19 Lockdown and work was scarce, a chance encounter led to Pipedec being awarded work to complete several commissions for 3D printed valves for use as demonstration models and handouts.

To prevent the need for carrying a full size valve and actuator, lightweight 3D printed models were produced for both an upright and scotch-yoke style of ball valve and actuator.

To compliment the large demonstration model some small handouts were also produced. The large model had overall dimensions of 780mm long x 430mm high x 230mm wide. The smaller valves were 100mm high. In order to get the required dimensions and finishes, they were printed in several parts and either one part screwed to another or were glued together.
